The front page of today’s Metro section of the Dallas Morning News has a series of photographs of billboards, posters, and signs found throughout Dallas — all with glaring spelling and/or grammatical errors. A generation of our people have scraped through our public schools and have entered the workforce without knowing how to write (or spell, or read, or balance a checkbook, etc).
Clearly, something in our education system is broken!

One other thing to consider is that some signs/ads INTENTIONALLY misspell words (perhaps they think it is cute). A good example is “lite” instead of “light” or using a z instead of s for a plural. That really annoys me. It isn’t cute. It’s lazy and promotes ignorance.
