Numbers are important to the Lord.  Moses and Aaron counted all the Levites (who had been excluded from the earlier census).  These Levites belonged to the Lord, and the men born into those families essentially had their careers mapped out for them in the service of the Lord. There were over 108,000 people at the new Dallas Cowboys stadium during the recent All-Star Basketball festivities.  The view of all those people is staggering, yet it is only 1/6 of the number of MEN of Israel who were following the Lord to the Promised Land.  Each of those men aged twenty or older likely had at least one wife, if not more, and multiple children. The Year of Jubilee….a time when slaves are set free, and those who have been forced to sell their family countryside lands are given them back.  Every fifty years, the Lord created a time of release…for the land, to let it lie fallow, and for the people.
