A Lounge Lizard’s Reality

This is the Lounge Lizard, checking in fifteen days post-hysterectomy.  Don’t I look marvelous?  That surgery was truly transformational! I am doing well.  Still tired and occasionally achey, but rejoicing that I will never again have back labor pain every month.  I’m rejoicing that my chronic back pain is now intermittent, my complexion is great now that my skin isn’t oily anymore, and I finally put on makeup for the first time since my surgery.  Yesterday morning we had our family interview at the university-model school we’d like to enroll our daughter in come January.  It was my second outing … Continue reading A Lounge Lizard’s Reality

It is Finished!

Revelation 19-22 With the Lord’s help…I have now successfully read the Bible from cover to cover!! Along the way I have been challenged in my faith and in my beliefs about what the Bible really says.  So much of what I thought I knew, I did not understand completely. I did not know there would be a first resurrection — of those who … Continue reading It is Finished!

A reason for reading Revelation

Revelation 12-18 Persecution is going to come. It will be far more severe than our government telling us we can’t mention Jesus’ name or have prayer in public areas.  We will be told to worship a statue, or die. This means that God’s holy people must endure persecution patiently, obeying his commands and maintaining their faith in Jesus. Because of Revelation, … Continue reading A reason for reading Revelation

The seals and the terrors

Revelation 6-11 For a second there, I felt as though I was reading the Left Behind series! But these words of prophesy that I read were from John.  There will be seven seals on a scroll and three terrors on the earth in these last days. 1st seal unveils a white horse with a rider carrying a bow and wearing a crown who rides off to victory. 2nd seal shows a red horse whose rider carries a giant sword and who is given to ability to remove peace from the earth and who causes war and destruction. 3rd seal brings … Continue reading The seals and the terrors

The Revelation begins

Revelation 1-5 Jesus had specific messages to the churches in the region now known as Turkey, and they were revealed to John while he was exiled on the island of Patmos for continuing to speak about the Good News of Christ. Here’s a snapshot of what he told each church: Ephesus – “I know the good things you do and how you don’t tolerate those who practice evil.  But I also know that you no longer love each other as you did at first…turn back to me, or else I will remove your lampstand.” Smyrna – “Although you are poor … Continue reading The Revelation begins
