Song of Solomon
Whew! The book of Song of Solomon is full of innuendo and love talk. I’ve always known that, but I never sat down and read all eight chapters in one reading.
It’s fitting for me to read these chapters right in the middle of my vacation with my husband. Being just the two of us again reminds me of all the reasons why I love him. I’m a lucky woman indeed to be married to a man who is so easy going. Even though WE are on vacation, it’s been more or less as if I am the one on vacation because he tags along whether I want to go to the beach or sight seeing or shopping or out to dinner. He’s just happy to be with me, and I’m happy to be with him.
So tonight I pray a special THANK YOU to the Lord for putting my man, my “Solomon,” in my life.
Place me like a seal over your heart,
like a seal on your arm;
for love is as strong as death,
its jealousy [a] unyielding as the grave. [b]
It burns like blazing fire,
like a mighty flame.
