A sober calling

Hosea 1-7 The day has been a long one, and I am weary in a good sort of way.  I had a great meeting with my CC tutors and feel so blessed to have them at my side, leading the way for our community to learn how to practice classical, Christian education. The Lord is placing a thirst for knowledge in my heart.  I see references to it everywhere I look!  When I see articles like the one in yesterday’s newspaper about the Texas law that allows schools to count failing test grades as passing ones, I have to shake … Continue reading A sober calling

Hard Work Really Does Pay Off, at least for Hezekiah

2King 18:1-8; 2Chronicles 29-31; Psalm 48 Hard work is not the key to success. That truth is a gem that I stumbled across today in my reading about one of the greatest Kings Israel ever had: Hezekiah. The conference I went to last week dealt with the idea of liberty and how our children will find liberty through the Lord, and through the building up of both wisdom and virtue.  As I read through the Bible, I … Continue reading Knowledge and restoration

Greet the coming day in peace

Isaiah 18-22 Isaiah made many prophesies about the nations in his part of the world.  Most interesting to me was his prophesy of a highway between Egypt and Assyria…his prophesy that those nations will one day bow down the Lord…and that the Lord had a special word for each people: 23 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. The Assyrians will go to Egypt and the Egyptians to Assyria. The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together. 24 In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing on the earth. 25 The … Continue reading Greet the coming day in peace
