Obama and Marx

All the new info I’ve learned about Senator Obama’s socialistic worldview brought me to investigate some of Karl Marx’s quotes.  I thought it would be interesting to compare the words of the two: Karl Marx, in The Grundrisse (1857) The pay of the common soldier is also reduced to a minimum — determined purely by the production costs necessary to procure him. But he exchanges the performance of his services not for capital, but for the revenue of the state. In bourgeois society itself, all exchange of personal services for revenue — including labour for personal consumption, cooking, sewing etc., … Continue reading Obama and Marx

Just Hand Over Your Pie And Nobody Gets Hurt

Obama told a plumber that yes, he would probably raise his taxes. “It’s not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they’ve got a chance for success too,” Obama responded. “My attitude is that if the economy’s good for folks from the bottom up, it’s gonna be good for everybody … I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”  (see the whole article here). Obama’s attitude is taken straight from the textbooks under the title “Socialism.”  The American Heritage Dictionary defines socialism as: … Continue reading Just Hand Over Your Pie And Nobody Gets Hurt

God of This City

Today in church we revisited the hard-hitting book of James. Our pastor called us out — in a nation where 82% of the people profess to be Christians, how much of that profession is true? True faith occurs when we start acting like we believe what we say we believe. We are God’s workmanship — we are the pottery he created — and he has a special purpose for each one of us. If we keep on living the way we were living before we were saved — if there is no discernible change in the way we behave Monday … Continue reading God of This City

Why Is This Not Blazing News?

UPDATE: The problem of Mexican cartels using OUR national parks to grow their drugs is more profound than I thought.  After posting this blog, I saw that FoxNews had this story on the problem — and on how these cartels are re-routing water from our streams, dumping illegal pesticides in our streams, and polluting OUR lands.  ACK!! Today’s Dallas Morning News had a two paragraph brief about an incident well within the United States borders…up in Nevada, to be exact…that has my blood alternately boiling and chilling. Tuesday afternoon, scientists with the Bureau of Land Management were conducting a stream … Continue reading Why Is This Not Blazing News?

Do Associations Matter?

The McCain campaign — and earlier, the Clinton campaign — cast suspicions on Barack Obama’s character by linking him to admitted domestic terrorist William Ayers. When questioned in a primary debate about his association with Ayers, Obama said This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who’s a professor of English in Chicago who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from. He’s not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis. And the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when … Continue reading Do Associations Matter?
