Luke 12-13
Actually today I’m going to write about something I read yesterday that has stuck with me. I’m puzzling over what it means to have good eyes. Here are the verses in context:
33“No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light. 34Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness. 35See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. 36Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you.”
Verse 35 is what grabbed my attention: see to it that the light within you is not darkness. Something about that verse resonates within me. I’m not sure why. Maybe there are hidden motives inside me that I don’t even know are there? Or be on guard against it? Or keep my eyes focused on the good and not the bad?
Again I don’t have all the answers…and not enough time this evening to go over them. I’d like to be Mary tonight, Jesus…but that will have to happen while I clean up the kitchen! :o)
