Teach me

Psalm 119: 1-88

Today’s reading was a very long poem about how the writer felt about the Lord’s commands.  Even though he was being persecuted, he kept on dwelling on the Lord and on diligently following him.

At every turn, he’s asking the Lord to teach him, to show him, to guide him, to lead him.

As I sit here listening to the sound of the traffic along the beach street mingled with the roar of the ocean, I, too, ask the Lord to teach me to show me, to guide me, and to lead me.  And I pray He will give me the courage to follow.
