Isaiah 31-34
Today I’ve been working on gathering supplies for the fifty six students in our Classical Conversations Foundations classes. My goal is to prepare “launch” boxes that will be filled with supplies and ready to go so that I won’t have to take time away from our regular homeschool the day before each of our CC days. Gathering supplies the day before class day was one of the biggest stresses for me during the last school year.
This year, I hope to have my foundation laid so that my days will be filled with joy…not stress.
Speaking of foundations…I came across yet another verse about foundational wisdom in the words of Isaiah in chapter 33:
The LORD is exalted, for he dwells on high; he will fill Zion with justice and righteousness. He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is the key to this treasure.
Respect and reverence are other words for “fear” as the word is used in the passage above. I don’t know about you, but I thirst for the triple treasures of salvation and wisdom and knowledge!
Going forward into next week, when I have an appointment with the oncologist, I am so thankful to have the Lord not just as my foundation…but as my SURE foundation. The KJV translates the words “foundation” as “stability of thy times.” The LORD is faithful, so I know my foundation is stable and secure.
