I took a lovely walk this morning.  If I had thought of it, I would have brought my camera.  But I didn’t…so you’ll just have to take my word for it that it was a lovely jaunt on a fall morning. “Life is Pain…”

Fear is a four-letter word, but so is Sick. Getting to the Other Side

I’ve never been to a “real” desert, but the images I’ve seen in books and media — and the way I’ve been whining so much about this Texas drought and 70 100+ degree days this year — convince me that I probably wouldn’t like it that much, especially if I had to travel through it on foot. Gritty sand sticking to the sweat between my toes? Yuck!  Searing heat with no prospect of shade? I’d be burned to a crisp in no time. Spiritual Spinach

I have a major decision to make. Today an ultrasound revealed that I have adenomyosis, a diagnosis that was suspected but not confirmed until the imaging today.  As I understand it, adenomyosis is a condition in which the lining of the uterus begins invading the muscle of the uterine wall. When the body’s hormones signal this lining to shed, it sheds everywhere, including within the muscle wall.  This process causes intense pain and inflammation.  Finally I now understand why every month I feel as if I am giving birth all over again.
